Plugins · 3ds Max, Maya, Blender and ZBrush, shipped
From one scene into another.
Sending a file is the plain version of what transferatu does. The plugins are the version worth having: an artist picks an object in 3ds Max, hits one button, and it turns up in someone else's Maya scene across the studio. No export dialog, no upload, no folder anyone has to go looking through. The transport underneath is the same direct, encrypted line every other transfer uses.
Three steps
How the handoff runs
The transport does not change. Plugins only change where the two ends of it sit.
- 0x01
Send the selection
One button in the application you are already in. The plugin writes an FBX into transferatu's handoff folder, the app picks it up, and a small picker opens over your scene to choose who gets it. You never see an export dialog or a file browser.
- 0x02
It crosses directly
The same peer to peer link a file transfer uses, machine to machine over iroh, hashed on both ends. The FBX is not staged on a server so that it can be handed on afterwards.
- 0x03
It lands, then asks
The other side downloads it automatically into their handoff inbox. Their plugin notices and offers Accept and Import, so the prompt is guarding their open scene rather than the network. Nothing is written into their scene until they say so.

On the roadmap
Cinema 4D, Modo, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Unreal Engine, Unity, and more
The rest are roadmap, not builds, and the list is not closed. Nothing is started on any of them yet and the order is not locked, so if the one you need is missing or further down than you would like, say so below.
Worth saying plainly
How it really works
- There is a file, you just never touch it. The handoff is an FBX plus a small JSON marker in a folder transferatu owns. That is honest plumbing, not a claim that nothing is written to disk. What matters is that no one opens an export dialog, names a file, or goes looking for it afterwards. The folder's location is configurable in Settings, under Files, because exports get large.
- They install themselves. The Plugins page detects which versions you have installed and writes each script into that application's own user scripts folder. Upgrading transferatu upgrades every plugin: the app rewrites any script an older build left behind, at launch.
- Still peer to peer. A plugin does not open its own connection. It borrows the one the desktop app already holds, which is what knows your account, your people, and how to reach them.
- Works for two people. Teams are the obvious case, but two artists and one plugin is a complete setup. There is no seat count in the way.
